It is in the nature of life to throw up challenges and only human to need a little help from time to time.

Deciding you are ready to embrace change can be exciting and sometimes unsettling. Choosing to invest in support from counselling can be an empowering first step.

You may know exactly what you wish to achieve from counselling or you may need to start with an exploration of what isn’t  working for you right now. 

 

Perhaps you would like help to replace unhelpful thoughts and behaviour patterns with ones that support your success

             or to balance emotions such as anxiety or anger, so they inform your decisions and enrich your life instead of limiting it? 

 

You may be seeking support to think through or improve your relationships at home or at work

           or to let go of painful feelings, phobias or traumatic memories?

 

Perhaps you wish to develop confidence in yourself and to take more control 

            or to talk through how to find deeper meaning, purpose, or a new direction?

 

Maybe you are ready to let go of an addiction or habits that no longer serve your needs

             or to create new habits and mental and emotional resilience to help you expand into a more fulfilling life?

 

It would be an honour to help with whatever is of concern to you.

 

It is worth taking time to find the right counsellor for your needs and personal style.

Feeling comfortable and that you are in safe hands is the essential factor for a successful counselling experience.

Talking about things that matter deeply to you is simply, not going to happen unless you feel your counsellor understands  where you are coming from and respects your freedom to focus on what is right for your own wellbeing. 

As a fellow human being, with a wealth of life experience and personal experience of the benefits of counselling in my own development, I offer a supportive, safe and judgement-free space in which to work through whatever is of concern to you.

If you decide you would like to work with me, it will be my aim to make sure that you leave each of our sessions feeling better and with greater confidence. 

Working together, I will  focus on helping you understand yourself and your situation with more clarity, identify practical steps you can take, learn new skills you can use and to discover fresh perspectives that can bring about positive change in your life.

 

About Me & My Approaches To Counselling

Finding my life’s meaning and purpose has taken me to some very interesting places and meetings with remarkable people and ideas. I am a bit of a psychotherapeutic nerd and include Buddhism, Ramana Maharshi, modern psychology, mindful self-enquiry and acupuncture theory in my thinking about the health of mind, body and spirit..  

Overcoming my own childhood conditioning and adult challenges has and continues to be a rich and ultimately, hugely rewarding experience. I am truly grateful for the wisdom and enjoyment that facing my difficulties and learning emotional and mental resilience has brought into my life. 

 It is now an honour and a privilege to use my trainings and everything I have learned to help others find what makes them feel good about themselves and  their lives.

I offer two different forms of counselling:Human Givens and Integrative Counselling.

Human Givens

HG is a brief, solution-focussed form of counselling that works closely with the way the brain is designed to promote psychological health and wellbeing through meeting our essential emotional needs.

For some people exploring the impact of past events is an important part of letting go of painful experiences but this is not so for everyone.

In my view, the Human Givens approach is highly effective for all, but is particularly suited to those who wish to focus on moving forward rather than on exploring the past.
